Airline board length limits S. Cal. to Hawaii?

Are there length limits for board travel to Hawaii? Do longer boards cost more to send? I'm thinking in the 8, to 9 1/2 foot range. Thanks

I've taken 9'6" longboards to Oahu from LAX on Hawaiian airlines.  No problem.  Current rates are $100 each way per board bag, max of 2 boards per bag.
