Aku Shaper, Board Cad - Problems with Mac

I’ve recently swapped from PC to a mac and am having trouble getting AKU or Boardcad to work.

I’ve got v6 of java instlled and have “trusted” the certificates in security settings, however i keep getting this message when i try to download/open either program.

"The application “AKU Shaper” from skushaper.com is requesting access to your computer

The digital signature is not trusted. Java will not allow any access to this application"

now there is a deny and an allow button, however the allow button is not clickable. When i go into the “show details” i can click trust certificaticate, but when i exit it still won’t let me click the allow button.

Any suggestions - it’s probably just as much a me not knowing mac yet issue, as it is specific to aku and boardcad.

Ahh it’s magically started working after a few hours of tinkering with security settings and numerous restarts - the issue was definately my retardedness on a mac, not the software.

I use Mac and it is working.  One data point for you.  BUt I don’t know why.  Sorry.

never had problems with akushaper personally but i noticed that whenever i get monthly mac updates but don’t activate them right away (which requires that the unit gets restarted), i’d have trouble installing newly-downloaded apps. check if you got pending mac code updates to activate, run them and restart. then open your mac downloads folder, remove the akushaper installer saved in it, re-download the installer and run it again.

but i don’t have any java programs. not sure but they might have compatibility issues with aku shaper in your case, so you can also try removing all your java files from both the applications & library folders before reinstalling aku shaper. once it’s up and running, you can reinstall all your java programs afterwards. btw mac store staff are supposed to know how to help you out to begin with. hehe

cheers,

Seems like there have been some problems PA.

I can’t get it to work either…

Have you read any here: http://www.boardcad.com/viewforum.php?f=8

I had some trouble getting both programs to work on Windows XP. No clue about mac’s. But it seems to be an java issue in general.

Installing both, java runtime environment(jre) and java development kit (jdk) solved the problems for me.
