Aku Shaper software

I could see that working if all aspects were micro managed. Seems a little bit far fetched. I would assume this would be very difficult to achieve. I would think this network would take lots of cooperation. I don’t see how you could ever protect files. For example what if a few of these machine guys went awol?

This is what we call a pipe dream project at Microsoft. Very involved difficult and to much risk.

Day 9

You guessed it. My machine owners download code again denied and no email from aku.

I’m recovering from the hope heart seattle gala “fund raiser for heart disease”. I was invited to sit at the chairmans table along with a guy who branded windows for microsoft and the Ex CFO for Vulcan ventures “Mr Allens company” after a few glasses of bourban we started talking surf. Both are avid surfers in their 50’s. They inquired how things were going for us inspite the soft economy. The topic of the software mishap/network I shared and both had a good laugh. They agreed that the issue is unfortunate but then blamed me. In the words of the man who gave windows it’s name. “Cmon mikey you know better then to invest in a company that develops the software and the hardware it puts to much control in one outfits hands why do you think msoft doesn’t build computers?” I realized what he was saying and took a big sip of my now diluted drink. The only thing that saved me from falling into a drunken depression was being able to listen to a private concert that included members of Boston, santana, toto and a few others not my generation but hey it sounded good and the chicks sure shake to it! Today inspired by these wisemans words It made total sense. It is part my fault. Am I really that stupid that I couldn’t see this coming? I guess I was… I believed in something and was sold a pie in the sky concept that coincided with my beliefs. I think the whole rebel/crusader super ego I have, got the best of me. I felt so strongly about the ability to try to slow oversea manufacturing of custom surfboards that I got lost in my own beliefs and dilussional desire to make even the smallest difference. Man o Man my humility is stinging my soul. I WISH THEY WOULD HAVE OFFERED THE APS MACHINE WITH S3D FROM THE START. WOULD HAVE BEEN LESS DRAMA!

That was a great event! I enjoyed Boston and Santana.

In regards to the software it appears as if it does extract information. I don’t know what it would be extracting. I think it has something to do with files that are created or possibly some relevance tracker. I’m not saying it couldn’t be used for the wrong purposes. The whole network of machines concept is interesting. I tried to google but found nothing. It really follows modern day distribution principles. Does this network exist? Who developed this concept? If it does exist who is using it? I would be interested in learning more about this concept. Maybe this is why your software doesn’t work?

i sure as hell cant?

Day 10…

Just got back from the shop… Spent yesterday hot-wiring and glueing up blanks… I almost forgot what a pain in the arse that is but thanks to Aku I have been reminded. I ran out of stringer material so I will have to try to pick some up this week another 20 MIle roundtrip in traffic. The torture is that we have 2 machines on the floor but I cant use them as they are not mine and are being packed. I spent most the day battling the 1.8lb insulfoam blanks I glued up yesterday. I learned that my planer blades were dull and how un-fun it is to walk back and fourth with a skil in hand compared to a bar counter and a laptop. (At least when you need a hip replacement). My god I hate planing eps with blades… Wish I had one of those grit barrels… I roughed out today mostly. Now I’m heading across the street for a few cold ones as I could barely hit the brake to stop my car on the way home… OOHHH The pain! it feels like I have a knife stuck on my hip! I’m hoping I can talk Kalani into coming to help me but he has been pretty busy wiring up the machines.

In regards to the network the first I heard of anything like that it came out of MIki’s mouth. He was sitting in my living room and we had some beers. He explained it in detail how it worked and what the hurdles would be. I doubt if little bird would could come up with something like that all by himself. Maybe papa bird but not little bird…

Mike…Dude,

A. Rule number one of the network is no-one in the network, talks about, thinks about or even acknowledges existance of the network. Settle Down!

  1. Cease all homo-erotic photo attachments - like the x-ray that come tooo close to showing your knutes for comfort. This is a family site.

Sorry. I do have a large sack and it was hard to keep out of the pic… Maybe I’ll post another xray… The one that shows a bird lodged in my rump…

How’s the Homeblown foam? I heard the new formula is pretty good…

Day 11.

You guessed it… Nothing… Having my second cup of coffee and bowl of oatmeal. Heading off to do my daily duties and my diligence. I had a mysterious email from someone offering to help. I do not recognize whom it is but I’m ready to do my diligence.

Go to control panel and java. Choose the general tab. Click the view button on temporary internet files. Select the application you want to delete and click the red cross at the top

yes harvard if only it was that easy

that just frezes the puter

i prbly got to get rid of java

& then try to remove it& reinstall java?

You might be able to note down the file names and locations and then kill them from the dos shell (/programs/run) after starting the computer in safe mode. Long file names will be truncated at 8 characters with a tilde, e.g. crap_pro~.exe

Here’s a link to the shell commands http://www.computerhope.com/msdos.htm

This can bring light to the network idea:

Technically I am still partnered with NEV in regards to this network idea. He just would have to pull his weight, do his duties and be less gullible. Lost his phone number, bummer.

The network is one answer for this industry, utilizing the power of the custom board is key for survival. So I think. Do it by hand is a local solution, the machine allows you to spread your wings. Just stay away from the 6 headed monster or everything that makes multiples of your board or design. It is the sure way out.

There have been several very successful mini networks created, intranet style units run by board manufacturers together with machine owners. As the number of APS3000 machines is growing fast, so are the possibilities of the network.

The old idea of a centrally coordinated network is dead since “trust” has left the equation. But was it ever real or just a pipedream?

The bird? What bird, all I can see is a rat. Nice ball(s), meanshapes.

Ouch. That sounds bad. Actually had to uninstall all java myself the other day. Seems like the java updates doesn’t always want to play together. Worth a shot. Uninstalling java will leave the programs in place though, but after a fresh install you should be able to delete the files. If that doesn’t work, there are other more geeky ways to dig it out.

So you must be the mighty german Mike refers to? Cool concept.

Mike,

The new white MDI from homeblown is pretty sweet. It is white and light - more than I have ever heard of in any other MDI product. I’ll get you a sample if you want.

I heard the new formula is really good. I would like to sample… Send me a few… I will gladly pay! bet you rarely hear that huh?

Apologies for stating the obvious but have you tried uninstalling Java? Otherwise a clean install of the OS may do the trick.

Yep did that yesterday. I had other programs using java so had to reinstall them… More of an annoyance then anything. Others have contacted me and have said they are not able to download the free design software. I went over to a friends house to try this afternoon and no dice… Maybe they are having tech issues or maybe they will be sending all their users a bill. Fairly typical in todays software game. Get everyone hooked then charge them to continue to use? Well maybe not… that would be real dick!.. Good thing I paid for mine… Oh wait I almost forgot I cant use it…

Just a thought: I wonder if someone gave them a cold? If you can extract information I wonder if you could extract a virus?

Day 12…

Dusty and hell bent on having some beers. Just put in a 10 hour day I checked me emails throughout the day thinking maybe a link from Aku would show. No dice again. I had a very bizarre image come to mind as I was testing a our new harmonic x drive. I saw a little asian man with a funny green and red hat " No it was not one of santas elves " He was addressing the people republic. It seemed to be somekind of parade with military trucks and tanks. At the end of the precession their were 10-12 trucks and on their backs they carried…Red and Black Surfboard shaping machines…! WTF! I quickly shook it off and got back to work. It was absolutley haunting… I wonder which companies have sold machines to China? Can’t China build their own? They are pretty good at knocking stuff off. Well not that good as most the crap I see on the retail floors look like grotesque rendition of a surfboard. Oh well I guess those hardcore retailers have to make a living to. Why not just make things worse for our economy and fill your store with China built product. Kinda like the bitch asses who came running in here with their crap china foam post clark closure. What a bunch of fools and they thought they could charge more and pay less… ahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahhahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahha (EVIL LAUGH) HAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Amen!
