Al Merrick twin finner mtf

Anyone surf this board? Care to share dims?

How do they surf with the standard truster fin setup?

Does he still make that or is it custom only? I know that the robber is the new mtf on his line right now. I don't know if it would work as it is supposed to with a thruster setup, possibly in big surf. i believe that is it meant to surf as a twinner (twin with a little fin in the back)

I surf the robber w/ AM1 fins as a thruster but only when it gets big and sucking up. The fins that come w/ it (AMT twinner set) hold on some pretty big top to bottom stuff but some times it takes until your bottom turn until you feel the fin hold. Saying all this I love my robber but CI does make a new mtf that you can buy OTS or get custom shaped.

There are people who swear by MTFs and ride them almost exclusively, only switching out fins from twin + trailer to thruster depending on size.  So to answer your questions, yes, they work both ways

Anyone happen to know how far foreward the wide-point is on these?

Couldn’t comment on the location of the widepoint, but my 6’0" is 19.125" wide, with a 12.875" nose, and 13.5" tail.  It has glassed on twins, and I like it with the MR-tx trailer in good waves, maybe a smaller trailer in smaller stuff.  In good point surf to 6’, there’s nothing I’d rather be on.

My buddy had one for like a year and half. Widepoint was definitely forward of where it is on a thruster.  It was way better as a twin finner than a thruster(red-x so we tried both set ups)
