I received a notice today that with an Alaska Airlines credit card a board bag and check-in bag are free. Haven’t tried myself and don’t know if they charge an annual fee.
Thank JM, let us know if you find out anything further… with all the negative publicity airlines get, we should give them a nod when they do something good.
Hawaiian has announced they have reviewed their charges on surfboards and will also go with $25 fee.
Good! Maui is on the horizon and I prefer Hawaiian. Alaska is on a growth spurt; They recently acquired Virgin. They are opening new stations under the Virgin banner. Alaska is Ok. They don’t have the sterling safety record that Hawaiian has. Plus the pilots and flight attendants are great on Hawaiian. But Alaska usually beats everybody on fares to the HI. I could fly free on Alaskan if my daughter wasn’t pissed at me.
