Allen Surfboards?

I am in Australia and have just picked up a 9’7" Allen Surfboard in great condition. It has two 2" balsa stringers and a laminated wooden fin. The Allen Surfboards logo has two irregular circles around it and it has the number 1122-7 is on one of the balsa stringers. Can someone tell me the history of Allen Surfboards and the date of manufacture of this board and/or any other relevant details?

Allen Surboards was originated and owned by Al and John Faas in Long Beach CA in 1960s.  They left the surfing industry by the 70s

but continue to watch the development of the styles and shapes of boards.  The renewed interest in surf memorabilia has brought

inquiries of their whereabouts.  They are alive and well and enjoying new interests outside of surfing.

The 9'7" board mentioned in the Jan 25 2007 post was probably manufactured at the Long Beach shop in 1962, shaped by Allen Faas.

Must see photo of the board to provide more details.

there has been interest in ( what ever happened to Allen Surfboards) surfboards were hand crafded from 1961 to1970. the main shop was 4645 E. Anaheim st. Long Beach Ca. then in 1963 we opened a satellite shop in Sunset Beach Ca.for 9 months. The shop was burglarized 3 times so we closed up and moved back to main shop. And made custom surfboards through 1964. Then off to Jacksonville Florida 1965 to1970 at Glass Research inc. made production surfboards, and custom hand shaped (Allen Surfboards). As the sun sets in the west we moved on.  Allen Faas & John Faas
