i’m sorry man…that sux. believe me when i say i feel your pain. someone busted into half the cars on my street (mine included) a few nights ago…and my wallet was in the center console.
Man, that’s terrible. I’ll keep an eye out for the board up here in HMB/Pacifica/OB and maybe that will lead back to the other items too. The thief probably wouldn’t be so careless as to paddle out with the board, but if he sells it the next guy might.
that used to be the old parking place for the Ano access when the farmer wasnt lettin’ us drive in to park above on the cliff…
the big state pkg lot is where the farm house was…
that spot where you was ripped was a popular rip spot because of the brush roadside to obscure the thieves…
the crime of oppertunity ,
sometimes too much to resist for our weaker brothers
bless you for nievely providing the oppertunity…
bless the poor fool who stole such highly charged swag
may it burn his hands every time he touches it or any ill gotten gains he ,or she ,derives from your prized possessiions
ask the caretaker if somthing was found and search the surrounding area some may have been dumped
my psychic opptomism says the ring may be with the pants behind the berry bushes in that next turnoff before you get to the wadell grade you know where the sign is,county line sign,…yea back maybe 100 feet [ or maybe the other way or on the other side of the road another small turn off where a rat could sort the booty often the 1st guess/read is the best] just try look all the while believing you can find the ring…ambrose… aloha the thief they need help
Sorry man- I worked on the north coast for 15 years and we found so many wallets, pants, shoes and such in our fields. After seeing so many break-ins i broke down and bought a state parks parking permit. The lot at Ano is relatively safe. Call the Berry farmer across the street- maybe he found some of your stuff. His name is Jim and he’s in the phonebook under Swanton Berry, Davenport(Santa Cruz?)- the manager’s name is Jackie and she might even know more. Ambrose is right about stuff- as usual.
Meth is really big and with it comes so much criminal behavior. You might want to look at the Sport Exchange -over by where Soquel crosses Hwy 1 by the hospital- a friend’s stolen board ended up there a couple years ago.
If you haven’t already- report it to the San Mateo Co. Sheriff. If you find your board and didn’t report it you will have to use the baseball bat approach to get it back (ugly but effective). We surfed up the coast that weekend and there was broken auto glass everywhere! Good luck
Too bad, I’ll keep my eyes out (actually I’m headed down to FH along with a few SC shops today). That is a perfect place to get poison oak, and have your car ripped off. Park passes seem cheaper and cheaper by the second even though they get more expensive.
thanks for the replies & advice, folks. i’ll definitely be using the state parks lot next time i go there. i’ll post an update if i hear anything about any of the stolen merchandise.
i view breakins as part of surfing… my first ripoff occurred at while surfing Rims and has happened a few times since i have lived in Hawaii… my solution was to bolt a pistol box to the floor of my van… they sell them at lock and safe shops, gun shops, and some sporting good shops that sell guns. they run about $100 for the ones with combination locks… bolt one to the trunk of your car, under your back seat, in your van what ever… i have installed a few for friends over the years… you still have to deal with the broken windows and crap but it is a lot better then loosing your wallet and key…
when i drove old vw buses i would install a kill switch between the coil and the starter. the switch i would use was made for home sucurity systems… again a simple cheap solution… you can never prevent theft but you can get a thief to pass up on your car for an easier target…
I’m not as forgiving as Ambrose when it comes to theives. I think they are pathetic pieces of s–t. Baseball bat sounds good, although YOU will end up in the slammer if caught. I use the K-9 security system in my truck. Works except on hot days when they have to stay home. Mike
Howzit jip, I had a friend who rigged his car with an old phone magneto( I think that was what it was) that would electrically charge the car body so if any body touched it they got one heck of a shock. The trick was he had a chain that he could lower to ground the car for no shock but when he left the car he raised the chain so anyone touching it was the ground, he got a lot of laughs with it.
