Another contour thread

I am getting ready to start on my template for my first board.

Its going to be around 5’10  x 19 x 2 1/4 fairly flat rocker    the bottom contours will be single to double to v, I want a fairly wide tail, but I also I don;t want it popping out - (I’m only around 68 kilos)  my idea is to put quite a big v in the rear of the board which would hopefully help make the turns easier without having to stamp on the tail too hard-- and to get it to bite with the v which would start mildly from the front fins to ‘squirt’ water out which im my theory should make turns more effortless, The concave upfront should give me a front foot accelerator?   Also the v in the tail would provide ‘fake rocker’ and hopefully give it more hold in good waves.

My question is (other than getting thoughts on the above) whenever I have looked at boards I have always noticed that the v in the tail seems to be very slight, is there a reason for this? Or have I just not been looking in the right surfshops? If I make more of a pronounced v in the tail would it have any negative effects. i e am I missing something in believeing that more of a pronounced v in the tail would provide advantages rather than disadvantages?

Spiral vee (concave into twin concaves inside vee) loosens up the tail.

Vee out through the tail kills drive.

Make the tail thinner and it won’t pop out.

That’s all I know, and it’s probably wrong.

Hope someone who actually knows chimes in and educates us both

absolute pure gold classic line!

Absolutely! Just wait for it…

Ok, thanks guys, I might go a little easier with the v now.
