My friend recently acquired an old 10’3’’ greg noll’s surfboard. We guessed it is 1964 is due to its stringer style and design. The question is what to do with it? It is in very good shape besides for one or two dings into the foam. Should it just be fixed up and surfed or should it be restored and sold? Since neither of us are particularly great surfers we thought that surfing such a beautiful piece of work and possibly ruining it may be the wrong move. Any suggestions?
don’t do any thing with it. If you are planing on selling it leave it as it is. Let the person that buys it do what they want to with it. Most of the collectors want it just like it is now. Post a pic. if you can. Ebay is a chose but I would not go that way unless I had someone tell me what it is really worth. Good luck.
keep it. you may not be a “particularly great surfer” now, but the day may come when you can truly appreciate that board for what it is…and if it does, you’ll never forgive yourself for letting it go.
You don’t want to keep and use an old antique board like that. I can trade you for a new modern board, fish, bonzer, softboard, or bodyboard. All of these boards are lighter, faster, and will look good under your arm or on your racks. That old heavy board made by an old guy is no good for you. Really…let’s trade…I’m here to help you.
