i’m sure most of you have seen this, but it needs some good heckling here. the biggest reason i go surf is to get away from shit like my phone.
i’ll start with some heckling.
-
end of the world
-
at least they’ll miss the sets while updating facebook.
-
should i use 2 layers of 6oz or 3 layers of 4oz when embedding my ipad into my surf deck?
-
is a samsung tablet lighter than an ipad? i don’t want to compromise shortboard performance.

what’s better for typing? vector net or nylon?
i hope this gadget helps us finally get to the bottom of some SERIOUS swaylocks questions. like… how many ltres of volume is my surfboard. or …how fast am i going? or… is my rail shape prohibiting the effectiveness of the drag coefficient i was told my current bottom contour contributes to my paddleing.
the S7 is waterproof don’t know to what spec you just need a waterproof display and antenna system
Bill Stewart started this years ago with his lighted surfboard and intel actually put a real laptop into theirs
this is what happens when surfing truly becomes nothing but an arm for advertising, marketing and selling out to sponsers who fund it (like politics) than it is about just doing the deed.
Reminds me of when I installed my Super state of the art trucker CB into a board I did a few years back. The beer can antennas kept hitting me in the face so I switched to a whip. I could whip it good after that. Got tired of all the good butt buddy trash talkin’ 18 wheelers though and 10-9ed.
brian keaulana did the ultimate lazy ass surfer’s hack decades ago.
still the king of board hacks in my opinion
april first has already pasted…woow there for real…that will be good !someone else in fairy land not paying atention in the surf,
Gordof, your first post is brilliant. I couldnt even watch the whole thing. That video kinda ruined my day.
That video is so offensive. Sell your soul for a few bucks to promote crap that’s the antithesis of surfing. But I’d probably whore myself for the right amount too.
I’d rather shape glass and sand in the nude.
Did not watch the video. I do not even own a cell phone.
Love the question though:

This question will perplex humanity for decades.
Bypass this issue altogether and get a neural implant in your temporal lobe(s), linking you directly with the the data stream and internet.
The 1990s Outer Limits episode, “Stream of Consciousness,” is prophetic.
Almost 30 years ago a guy that we used to get boards from in Ewa Beach named Dicky DeLong made a surfboard with lights that were like a car’s headlights for surfing at night. I saw it at a trade show here in Hawaii. Dicky was a well known shaper at Surfline, and a homeboy. I told him that I’d be scared to use that thing because lights usually attract fish and the bigger fish that prey on them. The down side to his product was battery life. Back then there were no lithium batteries, NiCad, NiMH or lead acid were the rechargable batteries available.
I see lots of guys with waterproof phone holders. They usually drive a Mercedes or Porsche to the beach.
