Was in Home Depot yesterday and they had a table set up selling off their display model power tools. I picked this up for $30 brand new. Couldn’t resist. It was missing the collett which I ordered and should be here by the end of the week. Totalled I’m into this thing for less than $40. Its variable speed and seems like a great design. Also doesn’t kick when the motor comes on like my current router does.
I have a few trim routers and the Rigid is the one I use the most…A real workhorse…The soft-start is nice, as is the round base which is easy to make jigs for…Great deal on a fantastic tool…
I'll second what Paul said. I got one in a "fire sale" type deal where I bought a bunch of tools and other stuff off a guy. That tool turned out to be my go to for fin boxes/plugs.
great tool thats what we use for Fusion and Probox
yup
pretty good tool
lifetime warrantee
I agree this is my choice for Fusion/LokBox installs - the micro adjust knob is great too. The only drawback is this new model does not take a standard porter-cable template guide/collar, the previous model did. Not sure why they would omit this, but I did some research and found that the baseplate is the same size as the previous model. It was cheap I found it at ereplacementparts.com, fits perfectly.
All I know is that when
wood ogre found out
I got one of these
he congradulated me.
…ambrose…
an it aint dead yet.
Yeah un-real tool. I set mine up for routing futures. Just had to alter base. I really like the slow start and the light. Variable speed is nice too.
Kicks my old Ryobi’s ass.

…looks like a great tool and you guys, are providing good feedback.
Also, super cheap! Incredible;
In my opinion, the best of the best is the Makita RTO 700 CX3
unfortunately, a small fortune, at least here. The simple version still cost too much, around here.
I have one set up with an 1/8" flush trim bit for routing out the slots after capping fin boxes. Happy with it, had it about 6 years without a glitch.
