International shipping on their blanks is only $13.00. Anyone know how good the blanks are?
I haven’t tried their blanks, but I have bought a lot of other great products from them. Their foam rubber velcro sanding blocks are the best shaping blocks I have ever used really awesome. I also have one of their shaping barrels for a Skil planer very nice.
They have always shipped me stuff in a timely manner and are great people to deal with.
I’d be interested to here how their blanks are if you ever order one.

out of curiousity why would you even consider buying blanks priced 15-25 more than comparable blanks here plus 13 to ship plus the packing fee… your looking at up to 40.00 more per blank thats really not going to be much different from a clark or walked blank to justify the difference.
I remember Dionfoam from back in the day it came from South America a little bit higher in price but really not too much different from a clark superlight blank, EXCEPT it absorbed less water than clarks poly blanks.
no , sorry , I haven’t ordered from them.
We get Burford blanks here in W.A. , and I have seen the occassional ‘Surfblank’ ['Hicksy’s ‘Moonrocket’ comes to mind]
I might be wrong , but I always thought that Dion blanks were made in Brookvale [Sydney, Australia] ?

Your damn right Chipfish, I bought a blank from Dions in Brockvale, Sydney.
Have had some shaping tools sent from them, those Microplane Blades for surforms are the go, but never used their blanks. Gunna stick with Surfblanks (Midgets), have used Southcoast but all three ended up splitting away from the stringer prior to glassing.
Chipfish,
you are right, I think at one time they might have had a factory or some distribution from south america, id say mid 90’s because alot ofwhat we had ,had spanish markings and at one time the only website i could find was in spanish {maybe portuguese}
Guy,s I have dealt with shapers since I started. I haven’t used their foam .Len from shapers is really aproachable and a good bloke. Drop them an email and they will set you straight on any questions .the velcro sanding pads are the best.
