Anyone know what type of paint/ink is used for screenprinting lams?

I’ve tried Liquitex acrylic on silky rice paper. They look fine at first but once they’ve dried I get waves/buckles around the edges and they don’t lay perfectly flat when I laminate them. I asked a local guy what he uses and he said enamel but wouldn’t be any more specific.

I would bite the bullet and order some but my logo has changed several times and I’d like to be able to do one-offs for buddies.

Thanks,

Tommy

Enamel.     Art supply store.

Do you know the brand name by any chance? I found some Liquitex Acrylic Enamel. Is that the stuff?

Thanks,

Tommy

No, I don't know a particular brand.    Sounds like what you found will work just fine.    Maybe search for ''silkscreen enamel'', that might turn up some brands, and sources.

Nazdar air drying enamels.  Make sure you don’t let the stuff dry on the screen, because if you do, say adios to your screen.   The harder part is finding the right paper to print on, the good stuff is like gold.  Try Mclogan’s, used to be in Anaheim and in San Diego.

Thanks guys!

make sure you use ink, not paint (nazdar is ink) - ink is a much thicker consistency - paint is thin & will run

oil based enamel colors look way better too!
