Well it looks like my sunny round that was made out of rubbish off cuts and salvaged stuff has been selected as a finalist in the vissla global creators contest.
This means I am invited to the judging announcements in San Clemente on the 28th of oct.
I’ve never been to the states and would love to at least do the walk to trestles if not surf the place while I’m there.
Maybe you know someone???
A patch of floor, couch, anything, I will pay for my own food, Yada Yada?
Yes go down to the Ghetto and see Terry Senate. Good place to start. It’s worth it just to wander around the various shops. Basham’s is a cross the street. Lost, Patterson, Dewey Weber. All down there in the Ghetto. I can’t make promises for others; but Terry can send you in a right direction. Ask him if he’s heard any good jokes. Lowel
One of the guys im staying with has a brother who works at Lost and the other works at the surfing cultural and heratige museum so I think I am a very lucky guy. And I’m already booked in to check out donald brink’s workshop, I hope there are waves.
I’m dropping in down there tomorrow. I’ll mention this to Terry. Shoot me a PM with your info : name and days you’ll be there. Etc. Yes don’t miss Sufing Heritage. Up the hill from the Ghetto. Rip Curl’s Annex and Stewart’s shop are on the way to Trestle’s. when you’re walking in there remind yourself that the Marines used to apprehend trespassers and confiscate their boards and that “Tricky Dick” Nixon lived on the hill above Uppers. Hope you get some waves. Was flat in Santa Cruz today, probably down there too. Bring some cash. Buy yourself a board. There’s some amazing boards down there in the Ghetto. Terry makes some of the best. If noting else eat some good Mexican food and take home a University of San Clemente T-shirt. Enjoy brudda. Lowel
