Anyone order RR resin lately?

Anyone order latey? I placed an order months ago and recieved it in two days. But I ordered some beginning of last week and still havnt recieved anything yet, and I havent seen greg post much latey. Not knocking him in anyway maybe there was just some confusion, wondering if anyone else was having ap roblem.

Was shipped the wrong hardner, emailed them multiple times over a few months with no response… Not much to say about the customer service at RR. Can’t wait to go back to poly and leave this (epoxy) headache behind.

Gregs been away on business. Ill help you guys out check your PMs

As an alternative, I also noticed recently that both fiberglasssupply.com and foamez.com are offering RR epoxy (although foamez price looks pretty steep compared to both rr.net and fiberglasssupply). I’ve only ordered direct, but these sites may offer a slightly more normal ordering/delivery route (as compared to the paypal/email way things are done now).

I was over at powerlite blanks the other day and was told that greg was out of the country on business. Apparently when he left town some orders were messed up and he hasn’t been able to handel it himself, but im sure that as soon is he gets back everything will get sorted out.

Guys,

Just e-mail me and I’ll straighten everything out. We’ve got some rookies that are doing a good job but hey, there still rookies. gl10@aol.com

I ordered some last month. Got it a little slower than last time, but not too late. I asked for medium hardener and got Fast, but it’ll do. I used Fast on my last board, no problems. Doug

I just drive by Jason’s house when I need um…

Hey Greg - I see your business trip has coincided with some pretty epic swell on the Gold coast. I hope you got the work/play balance right.

We don’t make a medium so when someone orders that we have to guess. We guessed fast I guess you wanted slow.

Greg, On your website you have listed Fast, Medium, Slow, and Extra Slow hardeners. Is this information out of date, or did I interpret it incorrectly? Thanks, Doug

Your right. That’s a mistake. We’ll fix that … sorry.

Greg, would it be possible to order a Medium and ship equal parts Fast and Slow hardener? Such that you could customize your gel time?

If I were to order another 1.5 gallon set, would I be able to get a quart of Fast Hardener (for hotcoats and such) and a quart of Slow (for laminations)?

Also, what’s the smallest unit or hardener you could offer in that sort of situation?

Love the resin by the way. Wetting it out takes a little getting used to, but my technique improves from layer to layer.

That sort of how I placed my last order - I got the 3 gallon kit and had the send 2 gal. of resin and 1/2 gal. of slow and 1/2 gal of fast.

Is there any difference in the temperate generated between the fast and slow hardener? I’m going to be sinking o’fish’l boxes in and don’t want to scorch the blank.

They should both generate approximately the same amount of heat during the crosslinking process. With slow hardener, that heat will be generated over more time, giving it a longer time to spread away from the box to so the temperatures should be somewhat lower. How much lower might be tricky to calculate, but with 2x the cure time a good starting point would be that the rise in temperature during cure will be cut in half.

That’s exactly what I order.
