Are Milk Containers Alright For Storing Epoxy?

I have your average run of the mill plastic milk containers with a coloured lid. Is epoxy likely to react with it, dissolve this sort of plastic etc?

Put a little bit on to test, or look at the number on the bottom of the bottle the resin comes in, but I’d still test.

I used them as mixing containers and it was not a problem, but I’m not sure if it works as storage container. I would test it like TaylorO said.

I’m pretty sure it’s OK in terms of reactivity. It’s just not very thick, so the chances of it getting punctured or creased and leaking are pretty good. A clean, dry detergent bottle would be better.

I’ve even stored epoxy (short term) in water bottles (PE and PETE).

Maybe Greg will chime in.
