when is it best to do the art work on a board. In the past i have done it with acrylic paint on the blank before i glass it. this doesnt work very well really, and looks sloppy. i have heard you can do it on the hot coat before you gloss, but i dont gloss my boards, so when is it best to do it, and how? and i deas? thanks
every step is art work.my wife says every thing I do I turn into an art project today bobby allen brought me the coolest green board with this white sweeping stripe down one side and ending up in a lam with dominant white centers on the letters wow its so refreshing…velzy green pigment (green tint mixed with white pgment )is so cool a black pin line arroound crisped up the look zow the integration of the art woik is the call not when do you do it? but how do you integrate it …it has to flow into the process and then and only then can you stand back and smile … only when you over labor an application of color detail do you really muck it up … too many steps only give you integration problems… how to get the many pieces to fit is harder… make it simple …GO ZENNIE one clean splash of color you like and thats all… is fresh and spontaneous…pigment at the end With surfacing agent sand and gloss gives the best non fade in my book and the collective flaws only show up at the end before the gloss … cover em with pigment I draw bugs on em or a flower… turn an imperfection into an interesting detail… flaws inspire great color detail… top coat tints are cool too!.. dont get anal about coverage you wanna get anal take it to earl schibe or a house painter and complain to them about holidays… the thin an thick spots make the surface come alive… at all costs dont beat yourself up just have a great time…ambrose …having a great time
best advice i’ve heard in a while, anywhere. thanks ambrose, Rob Olliges

Hey, both spray on foam and "filler " coat (Australian term for hot coat) have their advantages. Obviously the blank is less fragile when working on filler, but you have to work around decals. Petrol based paints dry quicker & bleed less - Cheaper tape can be used on glass. Seal filler coat spray work with a clear laquer , known here as "Pro finish " it is common as muck. an automotive product Josh http://www.speedneedle.com.au
