Article on flat bottoms - ?

On a different thread, someone referred to an article by Greg Griffin on flat bottom boards. I missed reading that article, and I tried searching it, but wasn’t able to locate it.

That must have been around the time when I was doing glass jobs for guys, because overnight, shapers started bringing in flat bottom boards to do.

I tried a flat bottom board once but it was a bigger board - about 7’10" and 21" wide - I didn’t use much tail rocker on that shape and I couldn’t see what all the excitement was about. But I’d like to try another shape with a flat bottom and give it some more TR.

I feel like more info would be helpful. So if someone could refer me to that article, that would be appreciated.

The board I’m shaping is an 8’0" about 21" wide and I can get as much as 3-1/2" TR out of that blank if I want.

Any other advice would be appreciated as well.

The board in the pic is my planshape - if it looks lopsided, it’s because its asymmetrical

Thanks

The article i think was on his old website, long gone.

Here’s some stuff, though:

https://www.swaylocks.com/groups/flat-bottoms-hi-greg-griffin  post#35 is a good one

Just put 'Swaylocks" into your internet search engine with your phrase and you’ll get better hits than the internal search engine.

Thank You!

Looks like there’s an extra space at the end of the url above, try this link: https://www.swaylocks.com/groups/flat-bottoms-hi-greg-griffin

Thank You - I just got around to reading that
