AST Resin Surfboards

Hello,

New to this discission.

I tried to do a search before this post and found not a whole lot.

So if I did it wrong please excuse.

I’m in the market for a new Long Board.

Just curious if any of you have had any experience with EPS, “AST” Resin boards.

Performance, durability, lasting, yellowing?

I know nothing is indestructible, but?

I was up in Satellite Beach just recently and almost bought one. The guy had a pretty cool demonstration.

Almost sold me on it just sounds to good to be true.

Decided to get input first.

Thank you

My last thruster was a Polyurethane Clark blank and AST resin. I did not find the AST resin to be anymore durable than polyester. I don’t “knock on wood” ding my boards very often. Most often they degrade from pressure dings and over use. The AST board pressure dinged just as easily as a PE resin board of the same glass schedule. Now it may not wear out as quickly and I don’t have to worry about jumping on the rocker upside down like they demonstrate. But, in practical reality I has not experienced a benifit from having a board made with AST resin.
