ATL surfboard epoxy R104

Hi Swaylockers, i’ve been lurking for a long time and would like to first up thank all those who have contributed their years of knowledge and experience to this forum… thanks. Without you guys the idea of riding something you made yourself would be well out of reach. Secoundly i’d just like to know if anyone has tried ATL’s R104 surfboard epoxy? I plan to make my first balsa compsand board with it. Any help with resin selection would be appreciated.

Thanks

ben

p.s. Anyone know if Greg’s RR epoxy is available on the east coast of Australia yet?

I got sent some data sheets on this when they were ready to release it.

Haven’t tried it yet and don’t know anyone who has.

no i havent

but i use atl new zealands resin

adr280 and the slow hardener adh28

its a good resin with a long potlife, no blush

west system is sweet as as well

Hi Ben,

Gregs RR is in Australia but unfortunately the company that is bringing it in will not supply to others.

If enough people are willing to use it I am sure Len from Shapers Australia may be persuaded to import.

I have just started using FGI’s R180 epoxy, all’s well so far except we used the Surfset hardener which has dried a beautiful blue colour!

Cheers

Daren

Bote-cote with non-yellowing hardener is a good choice for balsa compsands. check:
