Attention Jim Phillips and other master shapers: Comparing the 8,3E Clark blank to the 9,1 Y

Jim, the 8,2 you made for me worked insane yesterday at head-high D-Street. The sets were actually coming in slightly overhead and very hollow. The speed egg you made with the 8,3E (nose rocker lowered 2 inches) was super fast and easy to manuever in the barrel. So, I was thinking of having another one made that is 9,1 or so. I was thinking of using a 9,1Y with the nose rocker lowered one inch and the tail rocker lowered 1.5 inches. I think, using those measurements, that it would match up almost perfectly to the 8,3E for width, thickness, rocker, etc. Then, we could make a 9,1 or 9,2 that is just like the 8,2. I would use it for longboarding (I plan to enter a couple contests) and for larger surf. The way you did the 8,2 was absolutely masterful. If I had a buck for each time someone asked about the board, I’d be able to get you another twelve of Bud Ice. So, what do you think?

Okay. Thanks [smile]
