TUESDAY JANUARY 3rd, 2006 …my birthday … is the day !!!
Sabs , ‘lavz’, ‘backyarder’ , ‘bluejuice’ …if you want to meet on the back beach at lancelin, we will be in the water …keep an eye out for a kombi with a huge roofrack and a swaylocks sticker on the back window …hope you can make it there !!!
p.m. ‘Hicksy’ if you want a ride … …we have 2 seats free in the kombi for the trip up and back
digital camera , hopefully Lav’s brother’s digital camera / video in a water housing , maybe my canon plus 400lens plus motordrive …
hicksy is even talking about bringing up his BOOGIEBOARD for me to shoot water photos from [but I think he just really wants to get shots of me on a booger , personally ?]
[taken in hicksy’s new backyard pool today , by hicksy…yep, that’s abooger !!!]
Good luck chaps and I hope she makes it to the other side of the country. I’m actually going to be over in Margs around the end of the month and would happily give it a free flight back to Qld if it needs to go. Hopefully we get some swell soon or we’ll all turn into grumpy old blokes…
not enough rideable waves on it today to really give a proper report , plus I rode the “moonrocket” more than the Auslocks" board . [see “moonrocket attacks” thread].
Hopefully get another go at it between now and late february , when Grant will take it to ‘Pandanus’ country …
The launch went well, the conditions were basic to say the least but it’s a fast paddler and you have to watch where you lay on the board because of the thin nose not giving much float. Or it could have something to do with MY weight distribution…hehehe
I only tried it as a single but from my brief stint I reckon it’ll love chunky chest to head high surf, turns quickly and glides well. Got a few comments on the beach, people were amazed it was epoxy, really pleased with the finished result.
It’ll be over with Panny first week in March, so if any other Wozzies want a ride, better get in quick…PM me to arrange a pick up…

hicksy waxes ,
ben grovels … [I did EVENTUALLY get to my feet]
[we also took up the “hixell” board , but the surf was too small to get it moving …]
