"Back to where it all began where life was simple no rip-off people and it was fun"

I have a fare idea on a lot of aspects of board building, having said that I’m not afraid to ask the simple questions. Pride does get in my way as this industry has and still is my income since the age of… well forever, But I do try push pride aside.

It would be great to talk about heaps of things that really make a difference.

Its seams a lot on here are quick to cut people down but very rarely back their statements with anything substance.

I couldn’t give a rats arse (pardon the pun haha) how long anyones be a member or their points or how long they been in the industry. Its seams the ‘heavy weights’ on here are the ones that don’t say much about anything. Just talk Crap!

I really like Sways and Have put bloody hundreds of hours into it (why? don’t know? I like what I do and am proud of it maybe). But, it has caused me to have a very short fuse on here.

Some of the work done on here blows my mind consistantly.

Keep pn keeping on…Damn I can talk some crap!!! ha oh well, F#@k it!

fuck you do a lot of trolling McDing.
I love this thread,id say a lot of others do too.
more so than some of the other threads on here.

Thanks,

Was thinking this morning, that. I wouldn’t be making these type of boards if it wasn’t for Sways.

Cheers

Neither me yorky, Sways openned my mind and I´m glad for that… Great thread here, inspiring! So, what´s the feeling of riding these stringerless boards with wood veneers? I just finished one with cork deck, overlapping rails and wood veneer on bottom, can´t wait for testing it! I´ve put a carbon strip on bottom, but actually I think it wouldn´t be necessary. Well, if we don´t do it, we would never now…

Cheers

Guess I’ve been so busy I lost touch. Last time i saw and heard, you were going for the ‘big time dream’.

I was disenchanted with Amerika and ready to head down under and join up with you.

Then I fell upon your thread and see this humble corrigated tin shed and pure stoke around it. It made me fall back down to earth and realize that there is a big difference between how I am perceived by others and who I am.

I could be digging the tin shed in the woods powered by a generator if I still get to be the purveyor of stoke from people that appreciate it.

All the other sh-t are merely trappings of a materialistic lifestyle that serve to make you a slave.

**In one way, I was sad to see you not realize your dream. **

But OTOH I was glad to see you kept YOUR SOUL.

DS

Just a quick THANKS to you guys.

Catch you guys after work.

but, just a quick question… What? exactly is Big Time?..? really

I rode a super fast 1/2ft wave at the pass sunny Byron bay tandem with my 5 year old son on front of a 9’4 sup for over 200 yards, on our stomachs, hollow, section after section after section, this was 2 days ago, so so proud and so overwhelmed I looked to the sky and said thanks… Where am I in society? I have not and answer. But I’m loving a lot more. However sad and emotionally damaged to give up my dream factory, Yes!

…I love a beer and after a few I come on here and act like a bit of a goose, yep. Trust me, its all in good fun.

… F@#K’n Tin shed is leak’N arrhhhh

this is so cool, this is my new tagline

I have to admit I liked it better when I first read it, 'tho, and I thought you and your son snaked a guy on an SUP, hahaha!

then I re-read it - ok, its still cool

here here Deadshaper!

Great thread Yorky.

Glad to see you are doing well.

Looks like the stoke born of love…

Glad you are keeping on here in spite of the detracters…  To put that fucking shit kindly.  Ha!

Every time I read this thread , that song from M.O.T.E gets stuck in my head… more pics Yorky !

MOTE???

EDIT: just realized… Morning Of The Earth… duh =P

I think your right on track (but wwithoutthe carbon, might take away from the performance properties of the veneer).

The cork is epic, might actually work great with the carbon? Who am I to say.

I Like your shape too.

My veneers have to date have had a lot of forward momentum and I have made them to light. haha. It’s a positive feel, like you I would love to put veneer on Bottom and cork on deck.

Cheers

p.s. i posted a reply to you before however I must have done something wrong. ha

Enough veneer here for 2 or 3 dozen boards,

Making boards for few decades and get so stoked out on materials… whats with that???

Hey Lads cheers,

Not much more progression on the double ender, just need to sand it and wait for the right surf to it.

I decided to not do the ‘splinter’ veneer on the bottom of this next one (mine). Just to get a feel for the flex.

I’ll glass the bottom in 4 oz first with a ‘Mash Up’ tint, popular with the kids but ???

Then vacuum the qld maple down over the 4 oz lap.

Then re glass bottom with 4 oz with decals.

Sand the glass lap and also pre-sand the veneer ready for a 4 oz over the deck veneer.

Also I went back to an older, easier pu inserts for FCS and Leggy plug.

This Board

5’6" x 19 x 2 3/16

rail like a 2 5/16

Single concave deepest under front foot.

consistent rocker, low nose entry. Tail rocker starts just before side fins.

photo up load spacking out… Who the hells that guy?

…Fin inserts

One pic at a time. Thats all I’m allowed

Ol’Bag!

Oh, yeah. 14 hour release tape (Blue) is epic for this job. Huie You Da Man, No question!

Rail…Now, I’m off, time to get it out of the bag.

A touch of water

Looks like Maple you got there.
