Seeing the quest of many posters here to find an ecologically sound alternative to polyurethane and polyester. I ask my self why isn’t balsa revered more as an alternative to the dangerous cocktail. I understand that cost might be an issue, but why else? Weight, labor, time maybe? Balsa is a tree that is a great, fast and easily renewable resource and does not have any toxic waste. Why isn’t this material used more often? I feel that a balsa epoxy combo would be a more ecologically sound alternative. If the price of a balsa blank were competitive with foam would more people consider it?What do you think?
