Hi Luis -
I've not had much luck sourcing lengths over 8'. I have found 'edge banding' bamboo in 1" wide strips in continuous rolls 250 ft long. There are finger splices here and there but it is nearly seamless.
It is possible to lay out the edge banding material side by side and tape it together while vacuum laminating fiberglass to the inner side. It can then be trimmed to shape with scissors via 'Timberflex' method and vacuumed to the blank.
Solid sheet veneers in other types of wood can be found in longer lengths.
I did an 11 footer with alternating light/dark edge banding material in this manner.
why do you need bamboo? Europe has lots of other wood sources real cheap?
I think bamboo is a tad too stiff.
Birch?
sapelle, Agurie, Birch.........
Mahogany??
Bamboo....what is that?
By the way...John, that is a kick ass pump vac set up!!
Jay -
Thanks. I turn it on with a clamp on the vac line and after the tanks attain maximum vac pressure, I connect to the bag and release the clamp. It gulps a bit of air on that first inhale and the pump kicks on automatically. The vacuum and electrical circuits are right off Joewoodworker.com.

Let´s see...
first: Thank you !
second: bamboo is really a good veneer for longboards because of his rigidty e flexibility and weight;
for example, mahogany is very good but heavy and not so elastic; the are some other good kind´s of wood but they´re all or heay or expensive;
the bamboo wood is the less expensive and his elasticity is great, but where to find it in Europe????
one thing: this year the Fanatic boards (the longboard for example) is made with this wood; The board has great finish, light e elastic..
a hybrid construction with EPS, wood veneer, parabolic stringers and balsa rails over vacuum construction seems to be a good option...

for instance: beech and cedar are two good kind of wood´s.. also..
EPS with veneer, parabolic stringers and balsa rails will net you a super stiff surfboard. Is that what you are looking for? The strength comes from the sandwich of glass/wood/glass, and the combinations for that application.
I'm not trying to be an expert here...but I've built a few these things now.. Weight does not come from the wood. Weight comes from all the other stuff. A 1/40 veneer inlay will weighs about the same if it's Oak, Mahog, or paper. It's all wood.
But hey I'll crawl back under my rock over here.
I do some timberflex too and test panels with lot of kind of veneer. kind of veneer change are negligeable because skin is so thin.

Thank you;
I unfortunately had 3 bad experiences; one EPS/PVC compsand made that broke in the middle... one Shout...... also broke in the middle and one EPS/Veneer mould also broke in the middle;
none was broken by me by falling over them;
But also, none of them had any stringer...
Now I began to see them with parabolic stringers and balsa rails; they´re are light, elastic and resilient, but unfortunately I don´t know what is made the parabolic stringers and the EPS density; Any help please?
I haven’t used this firm, just harvested their details in my research. They seem to have a lot of options from veneers to thick boards.
Let me know how it goes.
well ... it´s not easy because of the size or the "type" of veneer:

Very Nice Build John!
