That came out nice, Jesus. Is that a double concave through the bottom or is it just the light? Mike
Looking great jesus, which probox keels are they?? i have the raky ones, but they look like more traditional ones, is that right??.
Is the concave parallel to the stringer, or does it follow the outline curve??
Cheers
looks sweet.. soon as I see a board with no stringer, I presume they are really light ??? finless should be challenging but it'll wanna spin thats for sure....
It’s a deep single concave about 3/8" deep in the center that is about 10 " wide running parallel to the stringer from tail to nose. The keels ae the traditional ones from greenlight.I surfed the board today in some waist high florida chop,it felt rediculous at first having never been on a board that wide and short with such low rocker and never surfing with keels. The first few waves were laughing disasters,by the end of the session I was hauling ass down the line slingin buckets. The board felt loose and skatey with tons of drive,it encouraged front foot surfing and often felt like it wasnt touching the water,I was able to surf some tiny waves with it too.I never took the fins out cus I was having too much fun.My longboard is gonna start collecting dust now that I have this in my quiver,I cant wait to get it out in some waist to chest high glassy peelers. The board is glassed with 1 layer of 6ozEwarp top and bottom using greenroom epoxy over 2#eps with no stringer weighing in at 7.74 pounds (unfinned)with an approximate volume of 43 liters. Some heel dents after the first surf but they don’t bother me.Thanks for all your help and inspiration here at sways, this place is awesome.-mike
sounds great, cant wait to get mine wet....she got a coat of cream yesterday but looks really pale pinky-lemon in these pics...
shaped another one today but might let him post pics and stuff if he wishes to do so.....

5’3 1/2" x 21" x 2 7/8" Pridmore simmons interpretation. Hull entry to deep single to flat between the fins. Keels set a couple of inches off the tail of course
Oooooooh nice. Some nice boards in this thread!!
Nice Captn,
I could not resist and shaped myself another but this one is more traditional as in wide outline, S deck and concave through tail, Fins will be 2" off tail and toed 1/8" , not sure if I will use some Sea shepard Keels in which case futures boxes or some wood half round keels. Has anyone got any thoughts on what fins work best yet from their ride experiences?
heres a comparison photo of my two boards, New one is 5’5 x 21 1/2" x 2 1/2" unglassed , might do a resin tint on it…
Salvaged Clark super green from an old LB, 59 x 21 x 2. Double barrel bottom flowing into channels, flattened diamond tail.
That looks wild PeteC, I love it.
Ride reports everyone! Ride reports!
Jesus has seen the light.
Amen brother and sister Simmons converts.
I tried the CI turbo keels in mine yesterday. Didn’t like them at all. The board felt very soft and unresponsive. I put the single foiled keels back in and the board had a lot more spunk(Doc’s by Rainbow Fins). The turbos are going into retirement. Your board looks nice Captn. Mike
I surfed mine in shoulder high glassy fast peeling surf yesterday for about 6 hours.Had the probox keels in it and I really didn’t want to change them for anything else.I think for keel placement mine are a little too close to the rail, but it’s still very fast and that wide tail slings some water around. It doesn’t mind going airborn either.
haa’’ mark keep that blank for the egg.
yea those blanks have a mo6 rocker but when i get them down to 5’ 2’’ -4 there spot on
striping old boards will never work best to start with a blank to do the job ( just sayin)
** cheers huie

Which rocker huie???, im getting pretty keen, though im not sure the 7'2'' FF i have would fit it, and i want to do the 6'6'' or 7' egg first. I may be able to get my hands on my first board ( 8'2'' ) and cut it down. That length should give me good rocker. Cheap too hehehe.
mark i done a few cutting them out of mal blanks’’ burfords fish’'** not impressed**
but when i got my eyes on the 6’ 8 fat fish blanks from midget im itching to get at em there the shiz[img_assist|nid=1055160|title=minis|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=228|height=640]
the two in front are 6’ 2’’ k f great for a more foiled mini
the two bigger ones are 6’ 8’’ f f ther 4’’ thick for the overweights haaaaa’’
**these are great blanks for this design in red[img_assist|nid=1055161|title=minis|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=480|height=640] **
carry on guys looking great
hulls frever

Thanks mate! This thread is awesome!.
Nocean, wheres the other pics of your board, and which blank?
Will post some more once I have finished it , used a Bennet Green Fish Blank for this, actually easier than a fun board blank and not as much waste!
Just planed my bottom curve then took to the nose on the deck side running the planer towards the tail to take the meat off, Fun to shape as this would normally go against all instincts to use a planer that way:)
