sorry, little confusing…if i did a tinted lam, and cut the laps… then before i lay out the deck layers of cloth…is it a good idea to baste the cut line and the foam for a smoother transition? then glass the deck like normal.

…Yeah,you can,that’s more of a personnal preference thang.If you do > baste it in this case,don’t travel out on the foam much or it will show in > your tint work.I prefer not to baste betwn layers if possible.Herb Like Herb said its personal.Its ok to baste the cut lap on a tint bottom.If you are going to tint the deck do not baste.(I call it a fill coat but there seems to a lot of chefs around.)We are only talking about a narrow line of resin say 1/2 inch at the most…I use a round flitch artist brush…the same as the one I use for pinlines.Personally I do the “baste” on all of deck cut laps because it takes less time than fixing pin air bubbles that will play hell with a pinline…Keep on cooking…R Brucker
