Bay Area eps blanks

Hey guys. I’m thinking of starting up a blank shop here in the Bay Area. Only eps for now, but blanks will be 1.5 pound eps with custom rockers for $55.00 for blanks under 6’2".  Blanks dims will be 6’2x22"x2 7/8 to start.  Good idea or no? All views are welcome.

Anyone?

EPS sucks.

If I still lived in the Bay Area I would pass.

That said, don’t let my negative comments dissuade you…

There is probably a market.

Good stuff brother. Now worries.  Just  wanted to let others know there were blanks

 in the area.

This post seemed a little too close to advertisement imo.

Discussing the how/what/why etc of building and selling blanks is fine in General Discussion but, offering blanks and setting price needs to be done elsewhere.

Try “industry talk” or put an ad up in the “surfshop”.

Good luck in your endeavor.

Nope.

Unless you have a machine, No.

You have 3 companies that sell EPS that deliver up there Bi-weekly. each with a huge selection of Foams, rockers, stringers, sizes outlines etc… at the same price or cheaper.

1 of those will deliver them to you cut.

We deliver foam up there monthly as well, and even though we carry EPS from 3 companies, its extremely low quantities we bring up, at prices the same or cheaper than you, and we also can bring them cut.

I had 50 EPS blanks up there I left, for sale at 10.00  a pop. I couldnt even get rid of those.

Poly… all day long.

Why waste the time

Yes I agree.  Takes forever to move just a few.  Nobody wants 'em.  Marko and US are the best of the lot because they are molded.  Marko cuts CNC so that gives them a leg up especially for SUP.  slab EPS for anything else is a waste of time unless you are a Backyarder with more time than money.  Lowel

Thanks for all the advice and am really sorry for posting too much info on pricing. I should have read the rules. Only reason I brought it up is because finding blanks out here is ridiculous, maybe I’ll look into pu foam, or aluminum honeycomb blanks. Might be time to start thinking outside the box. Thanks again for the info guys.

NorCal Surf Shop has plenty.  They are an Arctic dealer.  An Arctic “Orange” is within an ounce or two of any EPS blank and is superior in quality.

I vaguely remember a time when you swore by EPS and Poly was on its way out.

I shaped one 2# EPS longboard - like the way it surfs but shaping was no fun at all!  Good to know about that arctic orange.

sf has sunset shapers.

Pacifica has norcal as mentioned above but I’d call ahead for a tour in the warehouse.also the calee factory can get you one or a cnc cut

sc has arrow and many others.

Hey brother!  I just bought 30 CNC’ed blanks for $24 each.  So I’m probably not interested in  $55 EPS blanks that are unshaped.
