Yup. Worst hurricane season in recent memory here on the east coast. Desperate times call for desperate measures. Lifted from www.newyorksurf.com:
It is high time for a surf sacrifice. The last shot of overhead surf came for about 45 minutes in mars-like conditions a couple of weeks ago. I’ve gone through the garage looking for a board to burn, but looking through the quiver I think there are maybe two or three “overhead for a week straight” worthy boards and frankly I just haven’t surfed them enough.
However I got to thinking that we haven’t really had a magical hurricane season since the rise of the dot com era of surfing. So maybe it’s time to sacrifice a few websites to kick up something more than a little chest high swell.
Sacrifice Surfline perhaps? How about the surfermag bb? What about Newyorksurf? Something tells me Sway’s may be the best choice yet for 10 days of overhead offshore perfection, but I say we save that for next August as I’ve used up most of my vacation days for ‘07.
