Bending agave to make rail strips

If I cut slithers of around 4-5mm thick do you think it could be laminated to the curves of a rail?

Anyone who has worked with it a bit have an opinion???

Some of these I cut into 1/2" strips and bent into place.

Some are 1-1/2" steamed to bend.

Lots of options.

Have fun.

cheers,

So if i cut them to maybe i can get away with 8 mm .31 of an inch according to google conversions.

Ended up scoring a length of balsa so balsa rails stips it is…

Yew.

Balsa is a trip to work with.

If you get GOOD balsa, it is wonderful.  BUT it can be really fibrous or too soft.  I did a jensen style board with balsa rails and I did not know how to choose my balsa when I started.  What I found is that you want the balsa that is really consistent and feels kind of like polyester foam but a little firmer…
