Best Shaping instructional DVDs?

Hey guys,

I’ve been keen to start shaping for a few years now and I’ve finally decided to give it a crack.
I wanna know which shaping dvds everyone recommends? I’m currently looking at the Master Shaper Series, from my understanding the 2nd dvd is more geared toward shortboard shaping? This is what I’m interested in shaping, so I’m thinking of just buying the 2nd dvd… Will I be missing out on any info if I don’t buy the 1st dvd?

Also any thoughts on the Shaping 101 and Glassing 101 dvds?

DVD’s??? What are those?

Plenty of good stuff here and on YouTube. Pretty sure the old John Carper shaping and glassing DVDs are still on YouTube somewhere. The trick with YouTube is recognizing the gems among the heaps of garbage surfboard tutorials.

I bought the John Carper series I don’t know how many years ago now and it is good for the basics on shaping but doesn’t teach you anything about design and important stuff like rocker, rail shape etc. Got all that stuff from the good people of swaylocks. The glassing and spraying ones I thought where really good.

I’ve only heard good things about the Master Shaper series and Jim thinkng of getting it myself actually. Does anyone know any suppliers in Europe??

Righto, so I’ve checked out Damascusproductions.com and as far as I can tell they will not ship the master shaper series to Australia? There is a link there for an Australian distributor of the DVD but the link does not work. Does anyone have any idea where I can pick it up?

dont remember whats on each disc but the master shaper is better than the jc (which was the best one going for a while)

I think foam ez carries it.

Seems like it should be downloadable.

I have the set of Master Shaper I and II as well as the Master Glasser. Yes, they are amazing videos.

Willing to sell and ship to Australia if you are interested.
