All else being equal....if you had two boards:
1. 9ft 4 x 23 x 3 1/8 thick.
2. 9ft 6 x 23 x 3 thick.
Which one would give you more wave count and glide? Is it about length or the volume?
I am going to assume you are serious and answer accordingly based on my experience.
You are splitting hairs. The differences would be insignificant.
I could get into all kinds of other stuff like, warm water vs cold, high tide vs low, where do you want the 2" taken from or added to.

Yes - was being serious …but suppose what I should have asked is would a board with slightly more surface area on the bottom catch more than a board that was slightly smaller but thicker. eg is it all about the surface area in contact with the water - rather than how high it floats?
I was looking at two boards that were similar to above and it got me wondering…sorry…these silly things cross my mind:-)
