I’d like to shape a large fish in the 8 ft range. Any suggestions on dimensions, especially nose and tail rocker.
I’d like to shape a large fish in the 8 ft range. Any suggestions on > dimensions, especially nose and tail rocker. smells like a funboard to me. As far as rocker goes, I’d go with the natural rocker in a 7 11R or an 8’4R… use hybrid dimensions, maybe a 16" nose, 22" wide, 15" tail. Trifin w/ back of side fins 12" from tail, and thruster fin 4" from tail. Personally I’d use an 8’4R, cut out most of the nose rocker, keep the tail rocker and add a slight kick in the tail. Basically shape an egg, add a wing and a swallow tail… maybe narrow the nose slightly, and there’s your “big fish.” Hope this was helpful. http://www.albersbrothers.com

You are a gentleman and obviously a scholar. I ordered an 8’4"R from Fiberglass supply Inc, and board number 7 will be shaped soon. I also enjoyed your shop site. Thanks again.
