Tried it today, HUGE lightbulb moment, and the best rails I’ve shaped so far.

I tried to take a pic but couldn’t really capture it.

I’m really happy with the transition from hard rear edge to tuck.

You're welcome, Chris. Thanks to Bill Barnfield for starting that thread and taking the time to explain in detail how it's done. The planer won't lie to you, it cuts lines the water likes. (When used properly, some of the recent talk on here is about taking giant steps backwards re planer technique)

chris, i can only secound what you said and thank mike and bill for their contribution. i would actually go further and say that practicing i got a lot better understanding of rails and bottom contours, its not a door more like a huge gate that opened.
