I don’t suppose you know where I can buy a big vacuum bag online that will fit a 9’ board?
The ones I can get aren’t big enough and it seems a lot easier having a hole at just one end.
Sorry for a silly question!

Hmm build one? I used Vapor Barrier from the construction shop and sealant tape… Works fine…
Litez, is your sealant a tape (one side sticky) or a mastic (sticky material)? I often recycle the clear heavy poly bags from my work to bag small projects like fins.
K, I would place an order from a place that sells vacuum bagging supplies rather than trying to patent homemade substitutes, same goes for cloth and resin. No sense risking a board in the bag over materials.
From the ‘local’ shop, has some pictures: Home Page

Here are some pics from my last bagging project- small sailboat parts. I used standard bag film, sealant, peel ply, breather cloth, and a vacuum port. My pump is very small. 4oz or 6oz cloth and Greenroom Old#7 epoxy. After bagging, parts got sanded and glossed and installed on the boat.
I used double sided high density foam tape… I think usually its used to seal windows.
You usually find plastic ‘sleeve’ material in various width… definitely wide enough to fit a 9’ surfboard. I usually cut a length a foot or so longer than needed, seal one end, fit board in, seal other end and when finished with vacuum, I cut open the end as close to the sealant tape as possible. Next time I just reseal the end of the same bag. This kind of tape works but I am not recommending this particular source… http://www.crawlspacedepot.com/double-sided-butyl-tape-1-5-x-100-roll/
I made my own Quick Lock Seals from dowels & a piece of 1/2" pvc irrigation pipe. Works fine.
