its a fun place

even paddeling only takes about 15mins

kk thats a classic daniels shot

when ever it on there is allways the entire crew there!!

Yeah,

I don’t mind showing photos of the most well known, crowded west coast spot (Raglan) and east coast spot (Daniels Reef)!

Will keep the other local gems quiet though!

Sorry the rest of you, gotta protect some things…

Thats why I’m happy to welcome people to come surf in NZ, there really are plenty of waves to go around.

I just surfed for 3 hours before I took that photo, was very crowded but heaps of waves.

Kit

the question about kiwi’s being nice has surly been answered…

thanks for all the great info…thats a long bike for a surf check

i guess i will learn(and it will be good for me )that there IS more to the beach than just surf…i will surly make surf the cart is

big enough for plenty beers …calls for the mega icey

thanks again

Chris

Sick!

I guess the left wasn’t working that day?

My photo was from the anzac day swell earlier this year.

The right was doing it’s fat thing but still worth riding.

The left was winding all the way through to the rocks on the good ones.

Love that wave, pity theres not enough swell for it often.

Kit

that was june 3rd i think.

Good day that was. Omaha was going nuts and so was daniels. very crowded at daniels so didnt surf to much there.

Got some banging pics though. I think the left was working but if i remember the tide was wrong for it and a lot of guys

were just eating shit.

The other left over by the rocks was working though. a few smashing that to pieces.

I am planning the same trip and live in portland. I have had a few friends tour around NZ and loved it. They also said the roads can be sketchy, but no worse than most rural areas, and along the coast the hills are about the same as the pacific NW. I think one thing you need to consider here is what would happen if you asked for surf advice on a cycling forum.
