The contest is live, check your timezone if interested, First day was a couple feet overhead. The highlights at; http://billabongpro.com/tahiti11/videos-view-gb/free-surf-session-highlights Kelly kills again!
It was pretty tame on the first day. I’d love to surf it at that size.
If it gets as big as predicted…there could be some bad outcomes!!! Like watching someone riding a bull or ?
The venue makes for an excellent internet viewing.
I wonder if any of the “boys” will opt out of the danger.

The free surf was entertaining to watch. Kelly has been on a quad. Really good coverage of the event, I appreciate their effort. Thursday/Friday… 12ft @ 15 seconds?? We’ll see.
Its going to be great to watch from the safety of my computer screen!
How good does it look at this size, one of the most beautiful pics!
You haven’t surfed the end of the road on a big swell because you’re traveling on the tour and you missed the buy into round three. Well your chance has come, after dawn in about seven hours you are getting squeezed into a heat on the clock and will be given a chance to wet your competitive spirit’s appetite Tahitian style.
Last year at this time Andy Irons gave many of us great memories. Not much more to say other than don’t miss it. Thanks to many including AI, the Billabong crew, Surfers and water rescue. Oh and the Pupukea and Pipeline fire station and lifeguard house.
This will separate the men from the boys for sure.
As much as I like watching Dane surf, I’m kinda glad that Lopez took his spot. Remember those waves he had there a few years back…
Too big and dangerous today for the “Boys”…maybe the Roxy girls could give it a go!!

I hope he put a finish coat on that board, deffinitely requires multi-bi-axil cloth, and if it wasn’t for the double parra-bol-letic stringer he’d be dead!!
Respect
kelly naming mckee for his quad fin set up, cool for mckee!
