Looking to get my Bing Mauil FOil fixed up, board was used as a sled by previous owner when he was a kid in the winter months. Bottom is rough, has a few rail dings and needs nose work, Wanted to get the bottom reglassed and tinted, new fin box put in and the board sealed up so I can use it. Any recomendations and restoring or just leaving it alone
Re-glassing the bottom would add another layer of glass on top of the original one, thus a lot of weight (I suppose you didn’t mean to strip the whole bottom and rails cloth?). What I would do is fix all the dings, then brush an opaque tinted gloss (yellow or other color) on the bottom and rail. Very light finish sanding, polish.
