Hello,
I’m hoping to get some feedback on the Bing Pintail Lightweight longboard and how well they
go in typical Nor Cal beachbreak surf. I’m in San Francisco and do most of my surfing from the jetty
in Half Moon Bay up to Bolinas with an occasional trip down to Santa Cruz.
Thanks!

There are a lot of Bing owners that post there. They may not have experience at your spots, but some of them own Pintail Lightweights and can give you their opinions.
For what it’s worth _ I used to have a '60’s stepdeck Bing D.N. Lightweight (sold it - sniff, sniff) that I rode in Cocoa Beach (beachbreak) waves. It was hands down the best 60’s board I ever rode in those waves from waist to head high. My Harbour Cheater, and Rick UFO were a close second, but I promise you will go absolutely stark ravers after riding yours!!!
It’s not like the Jetty, Bolinas, or even Pleasure Point require super performance boards to have fun. All three are forgiving and predictable. You can surf them on anything.
If you’re into 60’s logs, the Bing is as good or better than anything in its class. There have been some rippin rides on those boards by some of the best surfers in the day. Nothing wrong with the board.
Whether or not you like the board will depend on what you’re used to surfing now. Riding retro logs and spoons? You’ll love the board. Riding thrusters? Forget it.
I purchased a 9’8" pintail lightweight from Bing. Had it shipped up here to the Santa Cruz area, and the board is just terrific. It’s become, rather quickly I might add, my go-to board.
