Blank screw up, help!

I don’t know if it was post-surf fatigue, but when I ordered my blank I specified that the T-band be composed of 1/4" rather than 1/8" wood (redwood on the outside, cedar in the middle). Will this add so much weight to the board that I should suck up the $200 and re-order?

Thanks

Cyrus

Make the board… surf it… be stoked. Ain’t no big thing.

Ditto.

It will probly look better with the 1/4" layup

the board already has a story and you havent even shaped it yet… i say “continue as planned”

You’re stoked! you just don’t know it yet…

Thick stringer rock, some of the old boards had 1/2" or even 1" stringer and thay look awsome.

Thanks everyone, I feel better. The total width of the T-band will be 3/4" and I am glad to hear this will not adversely affect the final product.

Up here, if you don’t have a 1/2 stringer, you will have a snapped board eventually.

Shape it, ride it, its all good.

I ordered my last custom with 1/4" ceder next to a 1/2" basswood. It looks sick and I love the extra weight and snap.

Now that’s what I’m talk’n about, that stringer looks sooo sexy. I think the stringer of a board and be a really overlooked/under rated feature of a board, it often gets overlooked but I love your eye for detail.

Now lets see some more pics of all the funky stringers out there. : )
