Blanks on the east coast?

Where is the best place to get blanks on the east coast? Im actually in Ohio but im lookin for a place to get blanks shipped for cheaper. Thanks for the help!

JJ, Clark foam has a warehouse in Melbourne FL, also there is a new place in jacksonville Fl that specializes in epoxy resins etc. They also have a new blank material they are promoting. I am not sure on the details of this one…Ed, you out there? Can you fill in the details on J-Ville blanks?

They only carry polystrene blanks (styrofoam) not Clarke foam. They have a pretty good selection of sizes and prices are comparable to the other type. They shape up the same way with the same tools. They also carry everything else you would need to do a shape from beginning to end. Lots more than is listed on their site. I have no idea what shipping would be, it is not the weight that is costly, it just that the boxes the blanks are shipped in are so large and bulky that ups and US Mail don’t wanna fool with’em. I think FedEx has a ground service that deals with items that big now though so you might check with them. Again, SurfSource would be able to give you up to date info on shipping prices. I think they will be your best bet. Defintely the closest to you. As a alternative, try the WRV web site they have a section on materials available for mail order. (www.waveridingvehicles.com) Good luck JJ, this will defintely be worth the hassle of getting the materials, shaping your own boards can easily become an addiction. http://www.surfsource.com

and the site is www.suncure.com

2 WWW addresses= same site (note the .net extension) www.surfsource.net www.suncure.com As a manufacturer’s distributer for certain products (FCS, SunCure, etc.) they have certain trade agreements to live by. They service retail surf shops, and as a courtesy to their trade partners they can only sell to customers who are “in the industry”, otherwise retail customers could just side step the retail shop owner. Just provide them with a FAX letter from your city/county that validates your industry status: “This is to acknowledge that (YOUR NAME/CO. NAME) is engaged in Fiberglass Fabrication/ Surfboard Production…bla bla bla.” Your local city letterhead on a one page doc is what they need on file to keep their own paperwork up to date. Any good civil servant with a word processor can whittle one out…hmmm? :O} Just do it. TS>>> and the site is www.suncure.com

I live in Jersey and I found it very hard to get blanks. WRV, in NC, will sell them to you but if you are building a long board the shipping is more expensive than the blank itself. I got one from a local board builder paid more than the wholesale price from WRV but cheaper than shipping it. Good luck.

and the site is www.suncure.com Sorry about the .com instead of .net mix up. Anyway, I know for a fact they will sell to the individual, I walk in yesterday and bought 2 fin boxes and a fin. They add, I think 20% to the listed wholesale prices if you are not a legit manufacturer. Otherwise they will sell it to you. Talk to “Dale”. http://www.surfsource.net

i need a longboard blank and i agree about WRV. who did you get yours > from? can you hook me up.i’m outside philly. thanks bro I hope you get this since it’s off the board already. I’ve been in Hatteras on vacation, good waves for 4 of my 7 days there. I got my blank through Heritage Surf Shop in Sea Isle. You can go to his web site and email him about getting a blank for you. Good luck, h2ofxk.
