blunt nosed / square nosed longboards?

ive been shapping a square nosed long board thats around 10’6" my neighbor stopped by today and claimed that its a big mistake and the corners of the nose are going to catch durring turns

does anyone out there sure a blunt nose longboard? do the corners catch? do you love the square or would you preffer a traditional nose? ive seen guys ride boards like this before and never noticed them having any trouble

lol!

Howzit burke, Since the raols are curved you won't have a sharp 90 degree corner so just soften the corners a litle and you won't have any problems. Hand Shaper AKA Robin Moir used to make a lot of noses like that and I never heard anybody complain about the catching. Look at those dble pointed noses and if they don't catch then nothing will. Just make the board and ride it. Aloha,Kokua

Herbi Fletcher, MacTavish and many others ride them… why not you?

thats what i was thinking, im getting pretty close to glassing it, if i can find my camera ill post pics

If the ears of your nose catch during turns, something is wrong with your surfing.

By now, you can see how ridiculous a statement your neighbor made.

The perfect answer is:

“You don’t know what you are talking about”.

If YOU were MY competition in the industry, I would advise you to listen and go by everything this guy says to you!.. lol.

Have fun, build away!

I just shaped one and surfed it all weekend. I did not catch the nose on anything.
