Board #1 hybrid fish

So i started working on board number 1 this week and took a few pictures this morning. its a 6’ x 14.5n x 21.25w x 16T and ~ 3" thick at max thickness with a single to double to vee. I like a little extra volume in the boards i already own to i tried to keep the volume up in the middle to support my weight.

I still think i will thin out the nose area a bit and make a few more rail adjustment. Anyhow its a really fun process creating your own equipment. I pretty much used the electric planer as much as i could after finding out how much quicker the process can go. the hand tools are great but the electric planer is king even though i only have the standard Hitachi.

Hopefully the glassing process goes well.

Sweet!! Thats a nice shape and It’ll look great with a thinned out nose. Make sure to post glassing pics.

Do a resin swirl!

Great looking #1. I wish mine had turned out that nice.

Looking forward to more pics and a ride report.

I got the nose area thinned out this evening cleaned up the rails a bit. I plan on glassing tomorrow depending on work, so more pictures to come. hopefully it rides well.

I have never used probox’s but i picked up five of them so I’ll have a few combination’s to try.

Not only is that thing rad, and rad for a #1, it’s almost exactly what I’m about to do. Super props. Looks like so much fun.

Well I ended up going with future fins since i already have so many fin sets. the probox’s will go on another project.

Ain’t nothin wrong with Futures.
Great looking stick!

Thanks for all the above comments.

Ride report : First ride was super fun.

My inentions was to build something that would support my weight at 200 lbs and have great resposne. So far i am very pleased and it does exactly what i wanted. I can dig super hard off the bottom with out feeling like im sucking the back of the board under water and then it just releases shooting me to the top of the wave. its great! very happy with this.

Thanks,

Very nice board mate. I've been looking at semi fish/ hybrid boards for a while now. I think they're a very good idea.
