Where in So.Cal. could I get a zipper repaired on a 10 foot travel bag? I think a repair would make sense as it has been a good travel bag and would probably cost plenty to replace new. North. LA County or Ventura would be preferable.

Find a place that does boat canvas - they have the sewing machines and tech to do it right - and will have the zippers too, if it needs a new one…

I’ve had a lot of luck with that kind of thing by going to an old fashioned shoe repair guy. There aren’t that many of them around these days but I’ve had them sew things like trailer cover and webbing straps, etc. They’ve always been cheap so it’s worth a try.
I’ve had numerous board bags with corroded out zippers, and it seems to me that replacing them with velcro might be an interesting experiment?
