Board design

today, while surfing a local beach break,my board was damaged when I pearled into a shallow sandbar. The tip of the nose was broken off 2-3 inches from the tip of the nose. It did not break off straight across, but formed kind of a half circle break-out, creating two tips for the nose. It’s a very eggy board with a very rounded nose. Anyway, I continued to surf. Even though the breakage was slight, it seemed to have a profound effect on the performance of the board, making it a lot more loose, it seemed to turn a lot easier, especially backside. It seemed a liitle harder to catch waves though. There was an article in a 70’s surfer magazine about “fish desgns” which show a board with the type of nose configuration I am describing. Just wanted to know if anyone had any comments
