I just bought this gun last night at an auction. It was designed by Leo Kastrup ? And it called World Coast? The shape looks pretty clean and the quality is good. The board is roughly 8’0" 18"wide 10"tail…9"nose. Anybody know anything about this board? Thanks in advance. Swaylocks lives.
…hello Cleanlines,
World Coast Positive, those boards were from Brazil
The shaper is from Rio de Janeiro.
Early ´90s and all that craze about carbon stringers, reinforcements, etc
speed finished most
I dont remember if it s were from Rio or Santa Catarina
Cleanlines, I edit to add that if it got speed finish could be from late 80s and without it from early 90s
but with the finish stiil can be from the 90s but not the other way
Thanks reverb. Now I need to figure out what to do with it. I usually buy these old boards to faux grain paint and sell them as wall hangers. I paint them to look like a solid wood slab and the interior designers like them. Surfboards are sculptural anwyay. I am surprised that nobody else does this. I pick up beater board…do the faux paint… and sell em for $350. Any of you guys could do it if you wanted. i would be glad to share this technique on Swaylocks if anyone is interested.
I guess I will sell the Brazilian Gun.Anyone interested???
Mr Clean!! HOWZIT!!!!
Yeah we would love to hear about the technique. I've been thinking about painting the rails of some of the timberflex construction boards i've been doing, but i haven't man'd up yet to give it a shot.
Please tell, and how you feeling after the heart work and what not............you look fantastic and dapper as usual....but what no smile for us in the picture?
