Board Shipping

Hello all. I’ve been browsing the forums for awhile now trying to learn as much as possible about shapping my own boards, and you’ve always had lots of useful information. Unfortuantly, my question is about something else, but I figured that since you guys have always had lots of answers before that maybe you can help me out.

I leave for Costa Rica next week, and I bought a 6’4" squashtail thruster real cheap on ebay, but the guy wouldn’t ship from California to Pennsylvania. So I had my buddy over in Los Angeles drive down and pick it up, and he needs to ship it within the next day or two for me to get it in time. He can’t find a box anywhere, and doesn’t have the time to go looking. Anyone know of any resources in LA for shipping surfboards, and which shipping company he should use? Thanks everyone.

Glen

Try Foamez. They might have something to ship your board in. Lots of bubble wrap. I heard both con and pro for fedex and ups. So take your pick. Dhl might be good too.

Any suggestions besides foamez? He said that westminster was too far out of the way :frowning: What about any of the shipping centers around the airport? Think they would have boxes for sale there that would fit a 6’4" board?

Have your buddy buy a hard case or a double padded bag and send it to you via Delta Air Cargo, or via another one of the airlines. Go onlin and look at pricing. A surfboard box for one 6’4 plus all the packing has gotta be the same price as a padded travel bag.

Hope you really want that board bad! Must be a good 6’4" I would have given up already!
