Anyone know of shapers in oz who are doing 5 fin Bonzers. I have seen Rasta’s shaper Dick Van Straalen doing a 3 fin bonzer version. Are those the same thing?? 1 big centre fin with 1 runner on each side.
Depends where you are in oz, most shapers will have a go cause they love the challenge, Go for the handshape guy/outfit. Find him in the yellow pages. Neil Purchase snr, would be a start, Sam Egan, Thornton Fallander, ask .
Mick,
I’ve seen recent 5 fin versions by Bob McTavish, Nigel Perrow and “The Buzz” (shapes for T&C).
I’ve taken a couple of Malcolm Campbell’s shapes over in the last few years, but I bring them back to the US when vacation is over.
but dont forget these days even some of the computer shaper guys use software like aps3000 and love challenges.
those are nice Dave !!
…have you made any three or five fin bonzers ? [has anyone ever ordered one ?]
cheers
ben
I too am curious to know who makes them here in Oz…not always easy [as I found out the ‘hard’ way !!] , when you only have photos on a computer screen to go by , eh ?

Interesting that it’s a vee-bottom , with smaller bonzer side runners…
I have a 5’9 vee bottom with two side fin boxes which lately I have been looking at again , thinking I can put my [modified for fin boxes ] new small bonzer side runners in !
…might have to give that a try this winter …

There will be a bonzer three “bumble bee” design posted by Sunday. Wet & drying at the moment. Board is for Renton who posts here. Shaped and glassed in Newcastle.
