“it’s marvellous what a difference Malo makes” [hehe] ‘chip’
That photo with the razor blade is a bit frightening, don’t they make single edge razor blades in France?
bon travail, ca c’est une belle planche

This is called: “Living on the edge”…
Beautiful! I want one just like it. Really. Every now and then I see a board one Swaylock’s that makes me want to drop everything and go make one just like it. I hope you used epoxy so it will last a long time. That one is a keeper.
Thanks a lot !
It’s not epoxy but pu/polyesther.
For the razor edge it’s not a real razor but it is used for a jigsaw (is it the right word in english for “rabot”?)
No way, Malo: “jigsaw” means “scie sauteuse” in French. What you mean is “block-plane” (“rabot à lattes”)
C’est tres bon!
Thanks Balsa ! I don’t have any dictionnary here…
I’m back again. Could you give us some more info- nose and tail dimensions. It also looks like your wide point is pretty far back. 3"-4" behind center? Please post photos when it is fully finished. And let us know how it rides. Tres beau (pardon my french).
I checked out your web page. Nice waves. In one photo, however, it looked as crowded as Los Angeles County in the summer! How cold is the water in the winter?
oh no i see flat spots on the fins :0
riderofwaves => there are some small white spots on my runners… the next ones will be better !
llilibel03 => I’ll give you more info this evening (here in France !). Actually the water temperature is between 9 / 10 °C, and will be about 8 °C at the end of february. We don’t have many spots and some big cities are near the coast, so there is often some crowd the week-end… but it’s ok now that water is cold and during the week !
Hola Malo,
I like the color combo but I don’t understand one thing:
You glassed bottom first (orange/yellow resin swirl + deck cut lap), correct??
You glassed deck second (blue resin tint + bottom cut lap), correct??
In that case, how the hell is the blue cut lap invisible over the bottom???
Maybe, did you do a “no-lap at all” deck glassing??
Please, I need to know.
Hola neira ! me gustaria hablar un poco de espanol, pero no es mejor que mi ingles !
So, firts of all I glassed the bottom (4 oz) with swirls and cut lap.
Then, I glassed the blue on the top (6oz) with no lap on the rail, that is to say there is a cut lap on the deck, near the orange one.
I put two pieces of 6 oz under each feet on the deck with clear resin, and a layer of 4 oz with clear resin and free lap.
Hello, this the first time I do this :
everything’s ok for the moment…
Hey Malo
Nice to see the bonzer is getting all around the place if you search I have posted pics of my own bonzer 5 with the redx fin system its amazing how good it goes also if you check out bonzer5.com there are some pretty good forums there for bonzers too my last one was 6’2" x 21" x 2 3/4" with just some concave but nothing like you’ve got going i’m about to have a 6’4" shaped up and i’m definately getting my shaper to go deep with the concaves and maybe even some channels like yours i’d like to know how it goes thats for sure
Cheers
