I converted a Bosch several years ago it was not the one that you have but a 7amp model that sells for around $180.I liked it because it had a reversable dust chute and the knob rotated 180 degrees for depth control. Try this…pop the top of the knob off and see if there is a hex head screw that holds it on.If this is the case reply back and I will tell you how to put a lever on it like a skil or hitachi.

Clean guy,I have the same bosch planer you do. I have adapted it to work with my vaccum system7 groung of al the sharp edges. I like this plaver because it has more hp than the Hitachi. I would like to know how you loosened up the depth adjustment & added the lever. Thanks, Ray http://raymosslongboards.com
